Introduction

Using the Amymals API you can get information about all the animals we support. This is a very basic API that gives you a basic description of an animal, and a random fact and image to go with it. The API is free to use and always will be. Use it in whatever projects you want to.

Endpoint

The API only has 1 endpoint.
https://api.amymals.xyz/animal/(animal)
This allows you to request the information and a random image and fact for the specified animal.
The data returned is a JSON object.

JSON Data

The data given by the API is as follows.

  • description A brief description of the animal.
  • fact A randomly chosen fact about the animal.
  • image A randomly chosen link to a PNG image of the animal.
  • name The name of the animal.
  • animal_name In the event of a user submitted image, this will be the name of the animal, most likely a pet.
